Although walk-ins are welcome, we predominantly operate on an appointment-based system. As such, we recommend making an appointment where possible to reduce waiting times. Same-day appointments are generally available, but this is dependent on our doctors’ availabilities. For further information, please contact our lovely reception staff.

At the bare minimum, we require your Medicare card and a photo ID (where applicable). Depending on the nature of your first consultation, it may be beneficial for us to have a list of your current medications and any relevant medical history from a previous GP practice to support clear and evidence-based recommendations.

 Do I need a referral? 

Yes, a pathology referral is required. Regardless of whether a form is indicated for Melbourne Pathology, Dorevitch Pathology or Clinical Labs, for example, they are accepted. Please obtain a referral from your GP.

If you or a family member requires interpreting services, please notify us at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time or at the time of booking to ensure we can coordinate an interpreter to be present for your appointment.

Our specialised preventative assessments include heart health checks, menopause, aged 45-49 and 75+ health assessments. We also offer routine assessments.

Glen Huntly Medical advertises itself as an after-hours clinic. However, we may close operations earlier should doctors not be available. Please contact our lovely reception team to see if we can provide you with appropriate after-hours services on weekdays and Saturday.

Alternatively, we also offer a $300 non-Medicare rebated locum service which can be accessed by calling 0430 118 407.

We kindly request that you cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 2 hours prior to your booking time if you cannot attend. This helps to ensure that care can be given to another patient who needs it. If not, there may be a cancellation fee.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances out of your control may arise and impact your ability to attend your consultation. Cancellation fees will ultimately be up to the discretion of our team.

We are a Medicare bulk billing clinic. We do not take private health insurance. However, some services available at Glen Huntly Medical may be covered by your private health insurance provider. Please contact your provider to see if you are eligible for a rebate for our services.
